How the work found him

Peter was introduced to the teachings of Ernest Holmes and Louise Hay when he had the honor of caring for a Religious Science Certified Practitioner and her husband before they made their transitions.

He began attending services at Foothill Center for Spiritual Living in Auburn, California. In July 2017 he completed his studies and was licensed as a Religious Science Certified Practitioner (RScP).

At the bedside

Peter considers himself a caregiver and has embraced opportunities to be at the bedside in private homes, hospitals and nursing homes. He has worked in healthcare for more than thirty years and holds California certifications as a CNA and CHHA as well as an LVN license.

He has been a hospice aide with Kaiser Permanente for more than twenty years, most recently working out of its Roseville branch. He completed his associate degree at American River College in 1997 and also earned a certificate of completion from its Gerontology program.

In the community

Peter is a member of the LGBTQ community and has served his community as a volunteer board member for a variety of organizations, including Foothill Center for Spiritual Living, Servant Hearts and Prime Timers.

At home

Peter shares a home in Carmichael, California with his lifelong friend Emma Blake, who chose the illustrations for I’m Here for the Bath.
